3 Thing I Do to Prevent Burnout as a Potter

3 Thing I Do to Prevent Burnout as a Potter:

1) Schedule time off! I’m intentional about taking time off to reset and recover from a busy season. It’s something that I plan ahead of time, so my future self can thank my past self. For the past 3 years, I’ve set my last shop update of the year in November, so I can enjoy my entire December with loved ones and without stress if I can help it. I look forward to this time of the year.

2) Get in more sleep. Usually when I feel stressed or burnt out, I also notice that I am probably also not getting enough sleep. This triggers me to be more irritable and on edge. That means putting my phone away earlier when I’m trying to sleep instead of doom scrolling! When I can get more rest in, I feel great!

3) Do something new! You may have noticed that I rotate my collections out throughout the year. It’s intentional so that I am not getting bored of one thing for too long. When I come back to an older design later on, it feels refreshing again 🙂
